Welcome to Ashi Point Shiatsu
We all come to this world to learn and to develop through our life experiences. We learn to survive, to be healthy, to cope with difficulties, to be happy and positive, and to be persistent in what we do in order to achieve our goals. Being healthy, pain-free and leading a healthy lifestyle, is the basic foundation on which we can build a successful path to achieve and fulfil our hopes and dreams.
Ashi Point Shiatsu is a unique combination of traditional shiatsu therapy with Original Point Medicine or OPM. Based on millennia old Traditional Chinese Medicine and ancient Chinese philosophy, OPM is a relatively new discipline, refined and developed by Taiwanese TCM specialist Dr. Chang Chaohan. OPM’s principles & techniques are focused on boosting our body’s self-healing capabilities. Fundamentally, it is our body’s ability to self-heal that ultimately ‘cures’ all injuries, illnesses, diseases & disorders. OPM is also known in its Chinese name as Yuan Shidian Medicine.
Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician also referred to as the ‘Father of Western Medicine’ is quoted as saying “The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well.” Hippocrates also said “It is far more important to know what person the disease has than what disease the person has.” Meaning, it is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has. We can see then, that the foundations of both Western and Eastern medicine are essentially the same – to help people cure themselves. That is the true healing that we are all looking for. Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease and cure of ailment.
Ashi Point Shiatsu is practiced and offered to you by therapist Wei Wu Felber. Wei has inherited Traditional Chinese Medicine skills and knowledge from her father, a well known medical doctor in Beijing, China. Wei has gained years of clinical experience and has travelled and studied extensively in the West and in Taiwan.
Wei is fully qualified and is registered with the Shiatsu Society as a Practitioner (MRSS). Wei is also a Senior Associate Member of The Royal Society of Medicine. In addition, Wei practices The Alexander Barrie System of Pelvic Correction TM to correct the alignment of the human body, and has trained under the personal supervision of the founder Alexander Barrie. Wei has also studied and trained in Cold Laser Therapy with Professor Gordon Farmer, Principal at UK Institute for Therapeutic Laser.
More recently, Wei is very excited and extremely grateful to have found, and been trained with a riveting form of medicine, the Yuan Shidian Medicine – Origin Point of Medicine, under The Giving of Fearlessness New Medical Science, in Taiwan.
Ashi Point Shiatsu is a hands-on, pain-relieving green, drug-free, natural healing therapy.
Shiatsu works on the whole body – bones, muscles and soft tissues – by applying gentle pressure and manipulation to ease pain, correct stresses and strains and so balance the natural structures.
Shiatsu treatment is much more than a massage. It incorporates carefully applied pressure and manipulation, to which the whole body responds. Shiatsu depends upon a thorough understanding of our bodies, based on traditional Chinese Medicine and incorporating modern knowledge of human physiology.
Shiatsu supports and strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself. So it works on your whole person – not just your body, but also your psychological and emotional self.
Ancient Chinese philosophy states that physiological life balance, or Yin and Yang, is dependant on the life energy qi (chi) flowing freely through channels (known as Meridians) of the body. When these channels become blocked, illness and disease can occur. Shiatsu aims to unblock these channels, restore balance and allows the body to heal itself through its natural processes.
Shiatsu is not necessarily applied only when the body is ailing; it can be employed as a preventative therapy to keep energy levels high and halt any problems before they become apparent.
By combining Shiatsu with Pelvic Correction, Wei specialises in eliminating neck, shoulder, back, hip and knee pain. Wei explains about the cause of these osteopathic problems; “We can correct and stabilise the pelvis, which is the foundation of the skeletal frame, by gentle Ashi Point Shiatsu and so, the skeletal balance is restored and pain is beaten and eliminated.”
Adding OPM methods to her regular practice, Wei maintains it has been clinically tested and tried on treating various cancers and many other illnesses; it has been proven with very high successful rate in helping all conditions, including aiding cancer patients to recover naturally. The clinical treatment results are amazing.
Wei continues: “Being an Origin Point Medicine, Shiatsu, Pelvic Correction and Low Intensity Laser Therapist, is the fulfilment of a long-held ambition. I believe I grasp an understanding of how the human body works, what can go wrong and what we can do to put it right, through this treatment. One of the keys is appreciating that the body is its own ‘pharmacy’. When the treatment encourages balancing the organ’s energies, then correction, recuperation and rehabilitation of the body will occur. It is a privilege to be able to eliminate pain and restore health.”
Through Ashi Point Shiatsu treatment and experience, applying the correct OPM theory & practice, will boost our self-healing mechanism. It can help cure various ‘incurable’ diseases such as cancers, diabetes, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, incontinence, and many more.
Lord Horder the English physician, recognized as a leading clinician and diagnostician of his day, said that “The work of the doctor will, in the future, be ever more that of an educator, and ever less that of a man who treats ailments.” Wei Concludes: “This is what I am aiming for at my practice and with every person who comes into my care. We tend to look for answers from outside. Many of us keep looking for different doctors and therapists to help them with all sorts of health issues. But the answer is actually within us.”
